International Accounting Manager

With a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team.

PURPOSE

Reporting to the CFO, the International Accounting Manager will act as essentially a junior controller to support the Company’s growing needs across multiple geographies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable financial insights to support financial and commercial decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  1. Payroll, AP and Cash
  • Process global payroll for employees and contractors as scheduled.
  • Perform timely payment of bills and vendor management.
  • Ensure all cash activity and bank accounts are monitored, reconciled accurately, and reported monthly.
  1. GL Accounting and Management
  • Ensure that financial activity and transactions are accurately entered into the appropriate company ledger for all corporate entities.
  • Prepare and record journal entries and ensure supporting documentation is attached.
  • Lead the financial close process for 7 plus entities, including cost-plus entities in various countries.
  1. Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with entity reporting requirements, including IFRS, US GAAP, and Singapore FRS.
  • Manage the Company’s chart of accounts for all entities. Identify opportunities to optimize common data and dimensions used to record, report, and measure performance across the Company.
  • Ensure reporting is aligned with the Company’s near-term needs, but also flexible and scalable enough to meet the Company’s mid to long-term needs.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and participate in special projects as directed by the CFO.
  1. Financial Systems & Processes
  • Light administration and oversight over the Company’s cloud-based ERP system, global payroll, and corporate credit platform.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial processes, controls, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Engage and coordinate with service providers as needed for additional support.
  1. Project Support
  • Provide guidance and support to project-based finance and accounting teams globally.
  • Ensure GL structure and financial reporting for project entities are adequately set-up and appropriately aligned with the Company’s global reporting objectives.
  • Coordinate with international tax firms to provide solution-oriented advice and guidance to the business .across the project portfolio

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

The following skills and attributes are important for the role:

  • Experience in financial close and consolidation processes at multinational companies with multi-currency accounting reporting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in .
  • Strong proficiency or knack for technology, enterprise data, and information systems; experience with Netsuite is highly desirable.
  • Experience or knowledge of tax structuring and optimization is a plus.
  • Capital projects-based business experience, particularly commodities or resources experience is a plus.
  • Able to effectively work across time zones and cultures.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Solution-oriented, collaborative and efficient
  • Able to effectively manage and prioritise tasks and responsibilities across varying needs of the Company.
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves and help build core business functions for scalable growth.
  • Strong desire for professional growth, and ambition to grow with the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Chartered Accountant is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, with a proven track record in progressively responsible roles.

Preferably Singapore, but flexible globally.
